Dear _(Name of lover) ,

I'm sorry.

I never meant to hurt your feelings.

I never meant to harm you.

I never meant to damage your ego.

When a person experiences unrequited love,

They feel like a lovely peace dove.

Yet they fall like autumn leaves,

And sink like the mighty Titanic.

They crash.

They burn.

They hope.

They fall.

They're blessed.

They're lost.

They're hurt.

They're dead inside.

They are the little white lies that God invented,

To make the world believe in what they hope for.

They're the little white lies and excuses we make,

To make the whole world pity for us.

"To hide our love!"

"To hide our shame."

"To hide our loved ones from harm!"

"… And to hide ourselves."

Now do you understand?

I had lied to protect me

To protect you

To protect anyone involved

I have tried to convince the world with words and quills

I have tried to end this love throughout my dreams

I have tried to spend more time with you

I have lied that I hate you

I have tried reasoning with others

That I'll never love you, it's untrue

I've tried fighting urges to embrace you

But everytime we meet, it ends in a disaster.

"Are you onto Stage 2 yet?"

"Do you like him?"

Everytime I hear these questions

I feel like I'm falling

I shot for the sky

I'm stuck on the ground

Why do I try, I know I'm gonna fall down

I thought I could fly, so why did I drown?

I never know why it's coming down, down, down.

It's a living nightmare that I have to love you unconditionally.
