A poem, by Brighty
A single red rose
Drifted down the river
Away from the past
And far from the light
As long as the rain keeps falling
I'll wait for you in the night
~
Scarlet drops
Fall in the mist
The mark of fallen warriors
That died in the light
As long as the rain keeps falling
I'll wait for you in the night
~
A bloodshot eye
Lies alone in the ditch
The proof that escape is futile
And the light lets none walk free
As long as the rain keeps falling
I'll wait for you in the night
~
A dead body
Is wrecked and strewn across the road
Showing what is right
And how light knows what is wrong
But as long as the rain keeps falling
My corpse will wait for you in the night
