Give and take (poems)

I woke up with a headache, rubbing my eyes

I step into the kitchen, preparing a breakfast that matches the sky

My lover steps in, he gives me a hug,

I give him some leaves in exchange,

And he stares in confusion as I mentally comment that I'm deranged.

I start to buy bedsheets, patterns and all,

My lover simply picks up what I had scrawled.

In the afternoon, he knits on the swings,

I simply knit a bamboo basket, in which he stares like he's got a sting.

Two weeks have past; my lover is leaving me.

I cry and shout, but he leaves for the door.

At the door, he simply picks up a woven chair.

I cry with joy as he picks me up, and embraces me with love.
