Cuphead wakes up to the warm sun shining on his body. Morning has just begun. Cuphead gets up from his bed reluctantly and puts on his shoes and black jacket. He yawns as he exits out his room and into the kitchen. The smell of eggs and bacon floods the house as Elder Kettle cooks up the boys favorite breakfast. Cuphead sits down and waits for breakfast. He notices his brother is not at the table yet. “Hmm, Elder Kettle where is Mugman?” Cuphead asks confused. ”I have no idea, he should have been up by now!” Elder Kettle replies also confused. Cuphead sits at the table silent listening to the sound of sizzling bacon. Just than, he hears Mugmans door slam open! “Huh!” Cuphead gets startled by the sudden sound. Mugman runs out of his room jumping up and down. “Today is the day!” Mugman exclaims excitedly! “You seem excited!” Cuphead says noticing Mugmans behavior.
Mugman sits down at the table with Cuphead. “The toymaker promised he would make me a custom toy today!” Mugman explains excitedly. “That guy near Porkrinds? He didn’t make me a toy last time...” Cuphead complains. “Yeah, but that’s because you were rude! I was actually nice!” Mugman replies. “Hey! I’m nice! It’s probably just because I hit his sign with my baseball accidentally...” Cuphead says defending himself. “Anyways, my point is, can you go pick it up for me?” Mugman asks Cuphead. “What? Why can’t you go?” Cuphead replies confused. “I’m too shy!” Mugman replies. ”What? You asked for it yourself, why can’t you go get it?” Cuphead asks still confused. “It took me 6 months to muster up the courage, I am NOT going through that again.” Mugman explains answering Cupheads confusion. Cuphead sighs “Fine, I’ll go get it but I’m not doing this again.” Cuphead says reluctantly. Cuphead puts his hand out for Mugman to shake it. “Deal!” Mugman says shaking his hand. Just than, Elder Kettle comes in with both the boys breakfast. Cuphead licks his lips at his plate. “Yummy! Thanks Elder Kettle!” Cuphead says thanking Elder Kettle. “No problem! Oh and speaking of Mugmans toy, Cuphead I need you to go pick up these things at the farmers market!” Elder Kettle says handing Cuphead a list.
“Are you kidding me?” Cuphead says grabbing the list. ”We discussed this Cups! Mugman is in charge of cleaning the house and you are in charge of grocery shopping!” Elder Kettle replies. Cuphead sighs. Elder Kettle walks back into his room to watch his morning shows. Cuphead turns back to his plate and starts eating with Mugman. “Still good though...” Cuphead says eating his breakfast. The Elder Kettle sure did make some good food.
After breakfast, Cuphead got prepared to head out. Cuphead went into his room and grabbed his backpack full of... who knows what? He always carries it, just in case something goes wrong! Cuphead puts on his backpack and heads to the front door. “I’m heading out! I’ll be back soon!” Cuphead announces as he leaves out the front door. “Bye Cuphead! See you later!” Mugman yells, saying goodbye to Cuphead. Cuphead exits the house and locks the front door. The sun shines, the birds chirp and trees bounce up and down. Cuphead walks down the street happily. “Actually a nice day outside. Hmph!” Cuphead says to himself. Cuphead trots down the street. Meanwhile, something or someone lurks in the bushes. What could it be? The mysterious thing reveals itself to be King Dice! The Cup Bros old enemy! Along with the devil himself! “I got eyes on him boss!” King Dice says looking at Cuphead. “Yeah, I know that. I can see him too dice!” The Devil replies rudely. “You ready to send in the troops?” King Dice asks. ”Yes, tell them to rip him to shreds! I‘m gonna get that cup...” The Devil replies. He has been waiting to get his revenge after Cuphead and Mugman. King Dice turns and sees the troops behind him. “Alright guys! Go after Cuphead! Rip him to shreds!” King Dice orders encouraging them. The little demons run into the distance. “What do we do if they can’t get him?” King Dice asks The Devil. “We take matters into our own hands dice...” The Devil responds with a grin.
Cuphead walks his way to the toy makers shop. It ain’t too far from his house. On his way he waves to Cagney Carnation, who is advertising his plant shop. “Hey Cagney! How’s business?” Cuphead yells. “Could be better, but it’s mighty fine!” Cagney replies. Cuphead smiles, walks on and ends up in front of the toy shop. Cuphead sighs. “Let’s get this over with...” Cuphead says to himself walking in. “NOW!” A squeaky voice yells. “Huh?” Cuphead exclaims looking behind him. Suddenly, 5 tiny devils are running towards him! Cuphead nearly jumps out of his shoes and starts running. ”Get away!” Cuphead exclaims as he runs. “Hehehe!” The tiny demons laugh. Cuphead drops his backpack while he’s running! “NO!” Cuphead exclaims. Cuphead runs back for his backpack, but the demons have it in their little hands! “Why you little!” Cuphead says running extra fast after them! He COULDN’T lose that backpack at all costs! Eventually, he barely reaches them and kicks all the demons off aggressively. “Aaah!” “Ow!” The demons cry. Cuphead quickly reaches inside his backpack and pulls out a potion. It’s the same potion Elder Kettle gave to him when he was out getting the soul contracts, granting him magical powers! Cuphead chugs it quickly! The demons start running at him again
”Take this!” Cuphead exclaims pointing his finger at the tiny demons. “Hah! He thinks he can scare u-“ The demon gets interrupted, a blue bullet hits him in the face. The demons gasp. “Hehehe...“ Cuphead laughs. Cuphead uses his finger gun to kill the rest of the demons. ”Hmph!” Cuphead says walking back to the toy shop. The Devil is infuriated. “DANGIT! I know those demons weren’t good!” King Dice looked at the devil. “What now? Kill him ourselves? King dice asks. “Of COURSE, you idiot! That’s what I wanted to do in the first place!” The devil replies infuriated. “Well I’m sorry you didn’t take note of the fact that he absolutely demolished you last time!” King Dice responds passive aggressively. The Devil scoffs. How would they get that cup?
