Hello, fellow wikians, starting next month I'm going to try to keep the weekly discussion back up. I'll try to have the prompts, etc. Have fun and good luck for the future!

November Topic/Sign Up

Welcome to November! I hope everyone's doing fine, and it is my pleasure to bring you another round of writing club. If you're new to this, check out this where you'll find full details on what this whole project is about. Also, when signing up, please make sure you're willing to commit to having something, no matter how short, by the start of December, and when signing up please just use one comment and give us an idea of the title you hope to use. If it changes, please tell me so I can be up to date come discussion.
So, without any further ado, I present this month's prompt: thick fog.
Be kind and have fun!

In regard to the future of Writing Club

Hi chaps. I know that everyone is busy, and I don't hold that against anyone, but at the moment it seems only Rmjii and I are the only ones participating in the Writing Club which makes it seem rather sorry. So here's what I suggest:
Until we get some new users, perhaps we should put WC on a hiatus?
I say this now as I am going to London for most of the coming week, and I would like this to be a discussion before November when I would normally post a new prompt. I will try and participate, but I open this to you, the users  of ILWW - would you like to see WC continue?
Following that, I also ask if you have any suggestions for the future of the club, or for other things we could do on the wiki to promote writing as a communtiy, or activity, or things we could do do for fun. Thoughts?

October Discussion

Right, so it's a few days early but I'm busy on the first and the wiki is a bit dead. So, basically I'm opening this thread to anyone to comment on even if you did not write, you may feed back. However, please read our rules and be kind in your feedback.
As far as I can tell, the entries are me with A little hell, Rmjii with Hell's Kitchen, Ivy with an at-time-of-posting unpublished poem, and maybe something by Bramble. If I missed you off, just say.
Who's up first?

Please sign up by reply, and start writing straight away! You can join at any time in the month, but remember if you join you must also discuss. Have fun! :)

March/April Topic/Sign Up

Okay, so I know that we are still discussing the last prompt, but I want to go ahead and get this one started up. I've already talked with Leo about the topic, and she has approve my idea, so without further ado: the topic of March and April is "Beauty and/or Love".
Normally writing would only take up a month, but I want to give this one two months because I've been kicking around some ideas and I really want to do this one well. So, our discussion month will be in May :) Trust me, it will be here in no time.
Thanks! (Oh, by the way, my page is I Wish I Were

This month's entrants were me with To Wish, To Dream; Bran with Boy Kisses; SkidZChannel with A Rose On Concrete; Bramblestar with their story; and Kerry Stapleton with their story.
I'll go first if no-one else wants to. Remember to critique helpfully!

January Topic/Sign Up

Let's pretend I didn't forget to do a December one, okay. And yes, I did this a week late again, so I'll give us another week before I start discussion.
The prompt this month is 'sad or negative dreams' as suggested by the lovely Bramble :)
Please comment if you're participating!

What is Writing Club?

What is Writing Club? Quite simply, it is a small project I run here, with the aim of promoting writing and discussion here on the wiki. Anyone can enter, and it is encouraged that you do if you are not confident in your ability, as this is a space where you are encouraged to improve.
The Writing Club operates monthly. We have one month deciding a topic and writing our entries, and the following month discussing all the entries that were written. There are several guidelines that you are expected to follow, as detailed below:

Your story must be no more than 5,000 words, and your poems must be no more than ten stanzas. For some, this does not sound a lot, but it is to encourage stories to be finished, and makes for easier discussion.
In discussion, everyone must offer a contribution. Preferably this must be at least somewhat contributive and insightful towards the work, even if short. Remember, this is a club dedicated to the improvement of our writing on the wiki. Songfic or series' are not permitted.
All comments during discussion must be nice. It may be a critique, but don't be unnecessarily harsh or mean. We are all more likely to improve through nice comments and pleasant suggestions of improvement. There is no tolerance for rude, hateful or nasty comments.
A critique is considered to be in its simplest form a comment detailing at least one thing you liked, and one thing you thought could be improved. It is through compliments and suggestions of improvement that people gain confidence and get better, and we aim to create a positive environment where people of all ability can present a work and get proper feedback on it.
So please join us in writing, no matter how good you feel you are, and remember our main rules: be kind and have fun!

November Discussion

This is a little earlier than I said, but I do in fact have a hypocritical confession to make: due to several personal reasons I haven't been able to do my story this month. However, I will still discuss yours with you, and I'll strive to complete it during the discussion, so maybe I can go last.
That aside, this month had a good turnout, with the participants Blood with his story, Silv with his story Space Ranger, and Bramble with their fanfic Harry Potter in Space!
Whoever wants to can go first, so let the discussion month begin!

October Topic

I will comment with the suggested topics below. Please place a kudos on the one you like best. If you have another suggestion, please message me. I will end the voting on the 6th, and therefore will not start the discussion until November 6th to give the full month.

October Sign Up/Topic

So I am early, but it gives time for what I plan topic-wise this month.
I feel like last month, me simply selecting a topic was good for me, but a slight turn off for others, and so this month I thought we could give suggestions, and then take a vote, in order to have a consensus on the topic, and hopefully to encourage more people to join in!
So please, leave a comment with a topic suggestion, and your participance for the coming month! Also, please do not vote yet, we will do a similar thing to the featured user in that I'll set up a specific post in which we can vote. :-)

August - Discussion

he entries for this month are Pull Me Closer by Brighty, Melting by Leo and a story by Honey. The prompt for this month was The North Pole, 50 years in the future.
This will be the thread in which we discuss the different entries. For each entry we will discuss several different aspects such as the tone of the entry, the mood, the voice, the characterisation and anything else of note. You should, when reviewing the entry, give a critique which both shows what you thought went well but how it would be even better if they did so and so.
So on and so forth. This is meant to be a discussion, so we can obviously discuss our own entries too, perhaps saying what our motivation was or what you thought went well or could have been done better?
As we had few entries this month, I invite anyone to join in the discussion, as long as all discussion in held properly.
Have fun!

July Topic/Sign Up

Hello, from now on I will be leading this club. As before, we'll do the one month writing, one month discussing, one month off. It's a little early, but the writing month coming up will be July.
I would also like to implement several rules or rather guidelines within this club, as follows:

As before, you may write a poem or short story. Songfics or series are unsuitable for this project.
Your story must be no more than 5,000 words. I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but this is supposed to be a club of short stories so you can finish them and we can discuss them with ease.
In discussion, everyone must offer a contribution. Preferably this must be at least somewhat contributive and insightful towards the work, even if short. Remember, this is a club dedicated to the improvement of our writing on the wiki.
On a similar vein, all comment during discussion must be nice. It may be a critique, but don't be unnecissarily harsh or mean. We are all more likely to improve through nice comments and suggestions of improvement.
Also, don't worry about not having time or it not being good or any of the mild anxieties often put forward in these things. It doesn't matter if you present 600 word that you wrote quickly in an afternoon. As I say, this project is about improvement and forwarding your ability, as well as increasing confidence. Don't present your story with 'sorry it's not very good' but with a 'here's my story for this month!' And don't forget, if you enjoy any of the prompts you can write a short story for this, then in your own time pick up the idea and run.
So, with all of that in mind, here is the prompt for the month of July:

The North Pole, 50 years in the future
So that's it. Please leave a comment to join, and have fun!

May/June - Discussion

Hello everyone.
If you did not participate in the April Wiriting Club, I would adivise you stop reading now, as this will just be a waste of time for you x3
It has come to my attention that many people, my self, Leo (tho she is done writing it physically if I am correct), and stormy included, are not done with their stories.
So, I will be giving a month extension to us all to finish. However, since Honey and Kitty are finish, I would still like for us to give them feedback for now. So, have a happy May and June!
